1. 12 Jyothirling of India- We made a shivling mounted on a tiger skin pedestal, out of utensils and other materials available at home. Black crepe paper gave the structure a stony finish. A Trishul, Damru and Rudraksh, Naag Vasuki, Vibhuthi on the forehead, Chandra and Abhishegam paatra were the small details added to the set up. On one side, 108 names of Shiva with meanings in English were displayed on an Ipad with Shiva songs playing in the background. On the other side of the Shivling, we used CD covers and old CDs to display the 12 Jyothirling temples and pictures of the linga, making best out of waste.
2. Pandharpuri wari-Every year, lakhs of devotees across Maharashtra take a pilgrimage on foot to the Vithoba temple in Pandharpur. We made a mountain to represent the western ghats through which the Wari procession travels through for 21 days to reach Pandharpur on Aashada Ekadashi. River Chandrabhaga and the Vishnupadam temple in Pandharpur were also created. Besides this, a theme park with symbolics representing the Wari procession like Silhoutte painting of Vithal, the Maharashtrian white cap, Tulsi mutt, Vithal’s tilak, Palkhi and musical instruments used to sing bhajans during the processions, were kept, few of which were handmade.
3. Hero no.1-Mobile: This part of Golu is a social theme highlighting how A Mobile instrument has subsumed a variety of tools and equipment that were a part of our day- to-day lives all these years. We have tried to depict the icons used in the mobile on the top of the items that have been replaced. Write-ups in both Tamil and Hindi, glorifying the positive effects of mobile usage were displayed.
4. Colours of Navrathri- The Devi was dressed up in the 9 different colours of Navrathri each day with a variety of jewellery adorning her. The sarees draped were created out of Blouse piece bits, onto which jhari borders were attached by us.
5. Traditional Golu: Various dolls collected over many years were decorated on 7 steps to decorate the Traditional Bommai Golu.
