🌟Enga Veetu Golu 🌟

The significance of Navratri Golu is to indulge in family time, interact with friends and neighbors and be a part of spiritual endeavors.

My mom Geethanjali Venugopal was born and bought up in chennai. Her fondest childhood memories of this Golu festival were around the times she visited nearby houses.

Now since 21 years she keeps Golu at our house.

🌟Description of the Golu:🌟

✨At the very first step from top we keep Perumal and Alumelumanga, Lord Shiva and Parvathi, and Saraswati.

✨ On the second step we keep Dhashavatar of Lord Krishna (10 Avatars).

✨ On the third step we keep Ashta Lakshmi.

✨ On the fourth step we keep Srinivasa Kalyanam.

✨ On the fifth step we keep Kamadhenu, Lord Kubera, and Murugan, Valli and Dhevanai.

✨ On the sixth step we keep Lord Krishna’s Rasa Kreeda (Dance with Gopikas)

✨ On the seventh step we keep human beings, marriage.

✨And lastly we keep green gram plant (grown during the beginning of Navratri), animals and reptiles.

✨ For pooja, we recite Vishnu Sahasranamam, Lalitha Sahasranamam and Devi Mahathmiyam.

✨ We also invite kids and ladies to sing and recite the Sahasranamas and participate for the pooja conducted in the evening.

✨ Prasadams: Sundal, Pal Payasam, Semiya Payasam, Aval Pal, Fruits.

✨ We also keep Navadhanyam, Rice, Ashtalakshmi Coins (silver), money and gold.

✨ And for Ayudha pooja and Saraswati Pooja, We keep Laptop, car key, house key, silangai, and books.

✨ We put Arsi Maav Kolam everyday right below the steps and color Kolam at the entrance of our home.
