You call me from across the seas,
Lamenting that you hurt from missing me,
That you yearn to be home again,
By my side you wish to remain.
How do I tell you, dear child,
I am not thousands of miles away,
Close your eyes, and you'll see me there,
Never left your side, never elsewhere.
When you walk through the door every morning,
I'm the person holding it open,
And if you turn around to see,
The woman waving goodbye is me.
When you are among strangers feeling lost,
I'm standing there, hidden from view,
All smiles as you courageously try,
Walking life's journey, to fit in, to get by.
You'll know I'm near if you listen
Closely, to the soothing, melodic rhythm
Of the gentle, whispering breeze,
And leaves rustling in the trees.
So dry your tears, and understand,
Though oceans stretch between us,
Like wind and rain fused in one entity,
We are bound by love, you and me, for eternity.
