Radhe Radhe,
We have been keeping Golu for the last 10 yrs and we started doing themed golu from 2020. Navarathri is the most celebrated festival in our family and my kids get all excited with the Golu and they spend a lot of time and effort to conceptualize themes and help set it up every year. This year, our theme for Navarathri 2023 is Sapta Roopa Golu - 7 different themes depicted along with our main golu. Below are our themes and its concise description:
1. Sapta - We have depicted 7 different examples from Hindu Mythology. Lord Soorya (riding on 7 horses) / Sapta Mata / Sapta Puris / Sapta Nadi (rivers) / Sapta Chiranjeevi / Sapta Rishis and Sapta Swaram.
2. Sakalamum Shaktiye - Divine manifestations of Goddess Sakthi. We have Lalitha Maha Tiripura Sundari, Gayathri Devi, Bala, Kamadhenu, Karumari amman, Mahishasura Mardhini, Ashta Lakshmis, Dasa Maha Vidya and Durga/ Lakshmi/ Saraswathi.
3. Navagraham - 9 heavenly deities that influence human life on Earth. For each graham – we have displayed appropriate elements like the dhaanyam offered, vastram, their wife name, auspicious gem and most importantly the sthalam in which they are worshipped.
4. Mini Golu. Over the years we have collected miniatures of deities made out of stones, brass, bronze and wood and together we have displayed it.
5. Nava vidha bhakti –the nine forms of devotion to attain the Supreme Lord (Shravanam, Keerthanam, Smaranam, Pada Sevanam, Archanam, Vandanam, Daasyam, Sakhyam and Atma Nivedanam). Most examples are scenes depicted from Srimad Bhagavatham.
6. SWAMIYE SHARANAM AYYAPPA - We have bhaktas doing the irumudi pooja and we have Lord Ayyappa blessing us from Sabari Mala temple.
7. Golokha Vrindavan – we have depicted some divine and cherished leelas of lord Sri Krishna.

Lastly we have our main Golu display. Thank you.
