INTRO

Navaratri is one time of the year that I really look forward to and plays a very important part of my life. I have been keeping Golu for more than 10 years now. My Golu journey started with very few dolls that were passed on to me by my grand-mother and mother and tonnes of interest and love. My first Golu had 3 steps with some wooden planks for the steps and few stainless steel dabbas for the base.As years passed, my Golu dolls grew in number and my interest and love grew more. Having so much interest painting and modelling(even if I cannot call myself an artist) I do a fair job in oil & acrylic painting and in clay modelling. This interest enabled me to use my creativity and bring in some extra element to my Golu setup where every year I came up with some theme like temples around India, weddings around India, etc. This year I have divided my Golu into 4 sections :

1. 7 Steps of Gods Godesses
Step 1 - My Nombu Kalash, Pillaiyar, Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswathi.
Step 2 - Ardhanarishvarar, Hayagrivar, Little Lrishna, Perumal Thayar
Step 3 - Nava Jyothir Lingam, Radhe Krishna
Step 4 - Ashtalakshmi, Pandu Ranaga & Rukhmani Set, Thanjavur Doll
Step 5 - Dasavadharam, Little Krishna with Adisheshan, Hanuman, Hiranyakashipu Prahaladh with Narasihma
Step 6 - Kailasham - Shiva, Parvathi, Ganesh & Murugar, Navagraham Set
Step 7 - Karthigai Pengal Set, Karakattam Set

Last - Chettiyar Chetichi selling fruits, vegetables, dals and house hold items
