Significance Of Golu:
Golu/Bommalakoluvu means showing all god/goddess in different forms in these 9 days and those who have girl child in their home will be having the tradition of putting Golu . Golu festival signifies the victory of Good Over Evil.
Dussera is celebrated as defeat of the destruction of demon Mahishasura by Goddess Durga in Kali form. On this auspicious day, all the three Goddess Lakshmi, Saraswathi and Parvathi are worshipped along with Sri Rama who has killed the ten headed Ravan on Maha Navami of Sharad Navratri and returned to Ayodhya on Vijaya Dasami with the great Victory.
My Interest on Golu :
My Golu interest on conceptual basis of all Indian Traditional temples started from 2016 but the interest dates back since my childhood.During my childhood Jatara festivals were conducted where I used to buy /collect toys with my saved pocket money. The same interest can be seen in my today's Koluvu.
My first Golu was set up in 2016 and I concentrated mainly on the Andal Thirupavai Pasurams and her description of Gopikas with the birds, people . My first collection sets were SriVilliputur set and Sri Krishna set .
About My 2022 Golu :
My theme in present Golu is basically on projecting everyday Devi Alankaram. This year I have put a short and simple golu with Srivilliputur set and Astalakshmi set and other toys including Sriranganathar and the gopuram and park made with cardboard and paper craft .
The concept behind this set of steps is usually when we go to temple we should first get the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and then we ask her for getting blessings of Sri Hari.
Conclusion::
Ramayan and Goddess Durga in 9 different forms plays a major role of my Golu showing about the Victory and "Good Winning over Evil".
