I am Gujarati girl Married to Tamilian boy. We both have always been fascinated by the temples , their structures, and vibrations it gives to us. We have a pact of going to any temple once a week in our locality. One of the memorable experiences for us happened when we visited my Husbands Kuladaivam(Family Deity), which is near Kumbakonam. After finishing our Kuladaivam rituals, we had one day in spare to rest, but my Mother in law had other plans for us. We woke up early in the morning, and to our surprise, my mother in law booked our tickets for a visit to Srirangam temple. We were 6 people, and there were exactly 6 tickets available that day. I had no clue about the temple whatsoever until we reached Trichy. We halted at our relative's house for some tea and coffee and off went to visit the Srirangam temple. My Mother in law had given me some brief ideas about the temple. As we entered the temple, I was amazed by the beauty of this temple. It felt like heaven on earth. Later, as we stood in the line for the darshan and as we were nearing to see the idol, my mother in law asked me to see idol from right to left i.e right from Rangathaswamy's feet to head of the swami since it is very big Idol. As we were entering, I wondered how big the idol could be since the entry door was small, and then to my surprise, as we passed through the door, I saw something that I had never seen in my lifetime, I couldn't believe what I saw. I had goosebumps and eyes full of tears right away as I saw the deity. It felt as if the Swami himself was in front of me in his reclining form. From that very day, I wanted to visit the temple again and again. Hence, this Navaratri, I got a chance to keep a theme of my choice, and I was blessed to be helped by my Mother in Law who helped me and guided me throughout . To this day, I'm thankful to the deity to give me his most memorable Darisanam. Being from Gujrati background I didn't know anything about the Golu after marriage I got to know the beauty of it so I asked my Mother in law to bring Ranganathaswamy idol to keep in the Golu and then we did it as theme
