First of all, thanking you for this wonderful opportunity to take part in your 2021 Golu contest
The current Work from Home situation is what made our this year's Golu a magnificent one. Due to unforeseen reasons, we didn't have Navarathri the past two years. When we decided to have Golu this year, the first thing I wanted to do was to include all bhommais as they had been inside the carton boxes since 2018.
The arrangement for the Golu brought together my whole family (who are otherwise busy with their office work) for hours. We wanted to make our Golu very colorful and vibrant to bring out the festival mood all around. To do this, we first started with laying colourful base on our golu padis. To add some more colors, my elder daughter came up with the idea of creating a Saree background on the handle of the steps. After these decorations, when my daughters finished arranging all the bhommais, I had a divine feeling and I have no words to explain it.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our amazing ancestors who came up with the Navaratri Golu tradition that helps in bringing Kovil to our Homes, that helps in bringing every member of the family together for setting it up and for helping us pass over stories of all our deities starting from Dasavatharam to Ashtalakshmi to Arthanaareshwarar to Chakrathaalwar. (These were the stories of our bhommais that I told the children who came to visit our Golu😊)
