Our theme for Golu this year is Thirumurthigal or Tridev , the three supreme Dieties of Hinduism . Brahma the creator , Vishnu the protector or preserver and Mahesh the Destroyer and transformer. My golu this year has 3 sections the very 1st one is Brahma , the creator where I have set up different aspects of mankind . A farming section , village setup, market place and a wedding setup .
Nest is the Vishnu section the preserver or the protector where In I have set up Dasaavatarams of Vishnu , ashtalakshmi , Marapachi bommai Sita sawayamvaram and ,Ramar Pataabhisekam . At the end of the section is a small set up of Krishna Leela. Every time Vishnu has taken birth on earth it is always to protect and preserve the Mankind.
My last section of the golu is Shiva the destroyer and the transformer .in this section I have kept meenakashi kalyanam , shiv pariwar , murgar valli devayani and Our beloved Ganesha , I also have set up murgar kavadi set. Finally to finish with I have a small Ganesha section. Shiva is a destroyer of evil and helps you transform to a better person .
Lot of time I’m asked why so much effort for the golu . I always remember what my grandmother use to tell me . Golus are set up to let younger generation know about stories in our mythology. With this year golu my kids now know siginificance of Tridev or Thirumurthigal in Hinduism , which makes me feel we have taken a step closer in cherishing our culture seven seas across.
