This is our 2nd year of Golu.
While few of the dolls we have are from my maternal great grandmother(almost 100years old), my grandmother's and my mom's( the entire brass collection is my hers), the rest have been purchased from various places in Tamilnadu.
This year we added 2 dolls, Murugan and His consorts on the first row and the Puri Jagannath ji trio in the 5th row.
Pattachitra is a beautiful art form and we decided to take this forward in terms of also having the gifts items in Tamboolam sourced from Orissa. So people whom we have invited get hand-painted Pattachitra paintings of Radha Krishna, Ganesha, or Jagannathji on tussar silk as a token of our love. Not sure if it's a theme but certainly our small effort to help these artists in these trying times considering the pandemic period and closure of tourism sector temporarily. We hope to integrate various arts and crafts of India as a part of our Golu celebratios in the years to come.
