INTRO

My name is Padmini Srinivasan, from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. I have been passionate about artistic kolu displays for the last 40 years. I believe that my kolu display should convey something unique and innovative every year.

The theme for the year 2022 is "Ekashloki Triveni". "Triveni" represents three monumental scriptures: the Ramayana, Mahabharata and Bhaagavatam. Scholars have condensed these elaborate, lengthy works into one verse each, for convenience of daily prayer. Episodes indicated in these verses have been displayed with a variety of dolls, along with related background pictures. Our traditional kolu padi exhibits the conventional dolls, along with several handmade dolls. We additionally also displayed a kids’ section, put together by children.
