I am happy to share my golu for the contest.

I have been keeping Golu for three years now, ever since my son was born.
I learn new things every year. Our main Golu setup has dolls from 3 generations.

This year, we have focused on three themes.

1. Kutti Krishna (Little Krishna)
This shows stories from Krishna’s childhood, such as
Krishna's birth,
being carried by Vasudes across the Yamuna River
his love for butter,
Dancing on the Kaliya serpent,
Krishna and Yashoda with the cows
liberation of Kubera’s sons and many more.

2. Shiva Kudumbam in Kailasam (Shiva’s family in Kailash Mansarovar).

Lord Ganesha and Lord Muruga fight over the fruit -Gnanapalam.
Narad suggests they sort it out with a contest ‘first to go around the world three times wins’. While Karthigeya is off on his peacock to race around the world, Ganesha circles thrice around his parents and wins the race. We have depicted this scene in our Golu (Using my son’s train set).

3. Arupadai Veedu
My hometown is Palani and this is an ode to the city of Lord Karthikeya. The six sacred abodes of Murugan mentioned in Tamil Sangam literature are presented in the Golu. The six abodes are Thiruparankundram, Tiruchendur, Palani, Swamimalai, Tiruttani, and Pazhamudircholai.
