INTRO

We have been doing golu for about 12 years now. For the last four years we have been creating a theme in addition to the regular Golu. I prefer to depict a mythological story with its significance to mainly educate younger generation. This year, I depicted “Gajendra moksha”. The mountain, pond, waterfalls, Lord Vishnu sitting on eagle are all handmade. I used a Barbie doll to create Lord vishnu. The hands, legs, weapons, ornaments are all handmade and added to the Barbie doll. Looking at me, my daughter got inspired and created “kung fu panda” village. Except for the pandas and plants all of the remaining are handmade: mountain, hammock, sledge, ladder, bride, house, dinning table along with noodles, dumplings and chopsticks. Enjoy our 2024 Golu.
