INTRO

We are keeping Golu or the past 15 plus years.
“யாதும் ஊரே யாவரும் கேளிர் “ is the theme for our Golu 2023 this year.
Meaning(English):
To us, all countries in the world are one and those who live there are our kin.
Meaning (Tamil):
உலகில் உள்ள எல்லா நாடும் நம் நாடே, அங்குள்ள எல்லா மக்களும் நம் சொந்தமே.

This was the first line of a poem written by a Tamil poet Kanigan Poongudranar some 2000 years ago as part of his work Purananuru (consist of 400 songs).
The inner meaning is to highlight universal brotherhood and how we live in harmony. We feel this message is very much in need in today’s world we live.

To depict this we have created a canvas of world map containing all the continent and in each continent displaying the people of the country and the important monuments. We have made some of the monuments / buildings by hand using paper. They are:

In addition to traditional nine step Golu we have created Village scene, Brindavan with Krishna Leela and Ramayana story using dolls. We also have grand Mysore Dassara procession.
