INTRO

We have been keeping Golu for the past 26 years without fail and have been only improving every year.

In the initial stages, the steps were used to be prepared from wooden planks, trunk boxes, tabels, small utensils, trays, books etc.

And the step decoration started off from simple glittering hangings to contemporary and complex pattern of string bulbs.

At our house the step assembly itself is seen as a mini function where the eldest member of the family to the youngest member take part joyfully.

This year we have arranged Statues of Gods on 5 big steps and have prepared a big park consisting of -

1. Forest with lush green grass covering the entire forest section with lots of wild animal figures arranged to depict a fable story.

2. The Indo- Pak War having each country's base with armed forces having miniature dolls .

3. Village setup decorated with multiple dolls and action figures and decorated with sparkling lights.

4. Kothanda Ramar kovil - Created with card board, A4 sheet and black chart for the steps.

5.Olympics - Depicted a wide vareity of games at Paris olympics. The games involves Volleyball, Archery, Swimming and Badminton. It is decorated with Thermacoal, Medical Gauge and sticks for Net, A4 sheet, colour paper, colour print out of the players. And Swimming pool steps is created with the help of soldering wire.

6. Chandrayaan 3 Rocket- Made out of cardboard, chart and the Model names, logos and Indian flag on the rocket was drawn by 6 year old kid with the sketch.

7. Park has been decorated with mini play games of children playing on it with a ice cream shop.

8. Andaman nicobar Islands - A beach house created with Thermacoal, A4 sheets, textured colour paper with Mini houses and small trees and a beautiful restaurant.

9. Swimming Pool- Made out of Mask and soldering wire and print outs.



This year we have prepared few Golu projects in Diorama version. We have our beautiful God and Goddess idols in our Golu Steps. Each idol depicts a wonderful story from all the 5 steps. We have majorly worked on projects like Paris Olympics, where we created with our own idea to prepare the model out of the resources from home (made out of Surgical Mask, Thermacoal, Medical gauge, sticks, A4 sheet, colour paper, colour print out of the players and tooth pick , Temple , (Involves a LED strip light), Indo Pak war Army base, Chandrayaan 3, Beach house at Andaman Nicobar, Park, Forest, Village. Everything in our Golu is Self prepared. Our whole family was involved in preparing the Golu. Having 2 persons working from home and a 3 year old kid and 6 year old kid.
