Moong Dal / Paasi Paruppu Ladoo

Method:
1. Powder the roasted moong dal in a blender into a fine powder and keep it separate.
2. Powder the sugar into a fine powder.
3. Now add the moong dal powder, sugar powder and the cardamom powder in a mixing bowl and mix very well.
4. Then add the melted ghee little by little and rub it into the powder mixture with your fingers.
5. Continue adding ghee until it forms a crumbly texture.
6. Then take a fist full of this mixture and start pressing it tightly to make ladoo.
7. Ladoos are ready to serve.

Super Healthy Apple and Carrot Smoothie

Super Healthy Apple and Carrot Smoothie

Method:
1. Blend all the ingredients in a blender jar to a thick smoothie.
2. Serve it cold or at room temperature with some fresh mint leaves.

Puttu with Green Gram Sundal and Spicy Coconut Sambol

Green gram sundal :
Method:
1. Heat a pan and add 2 tbsp of oil and add the tempering ingredients.
2. Once the mustard starts to splatter, add the onion and curry leaves and cook until soft.
3. Then add the turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt and grated coconut.
4. Mix well and fry for 2-3 mins.
5. Now add the cooked green gram and mix well.
6. Close the pan and cook for 5-10 mins until the green grams absorbs all the flavours.
7. Green gram sundal is ready to serve.

Spicy Coconut Sambol:
Method:
In a blender/mixer jar, add all the ingredients and pulse it few times to bring it to a grated texture.
Sambol is ready.


Puttu:
Method:
1. Take the puttu flour in a mixing bowl.
2. Add salt and mix well.
3. Then sprinkle the water little by little while mixing it into the flour with your fingers.
4. Keep breaking any lumps while mixing and bring it to a crumbly texture.
5.To check the consistency of the flour mixture, press a small amount of mixture in your palm. The mixture should be able to hold the shape and also get back to crumbly texture when broken down again.
6. Now the puttu mixture is ready.
7. Prepare the puttu maker by boiling some water in the base of the puttu maker.
8. Now start layering the flour mixture into puttu tube (Cylindrical part of the puttu maker) by starting with 2 tbsp of grated coconut and then 3 tbsp of flour mixture. Then repeat this again with 2 tbsp of grated coconut and then 3 tbsp of flour mixture. Finally 2 tbsp of grated coconut.
9. Close the lid and place the puttu tube on the puttu base for steaming.
10. Let it steam for 5-7 mins and remove the puttu tube for the base.
11. Push the puttu out of the tube with the help of a wooden spoon.
12. Super soft puttu should be ready now. Serve it with green gram and spicy coconut sambol.

Ingredients:
Boiled green gram -1 cup
Fine chopped onion - 1/3 cup
Chilli powder -1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Grated coconut - 2 tbsp
Curry Leaves - 5-6 leaves
Salt- to taste
For Tempering- 1/4 tsp mustard seeds, 1/4 tsp cumin seeds and few curry leafs.

Spicy Coconut Sambol:
Ingredients :
Coconut - 1 Cup
Onion - 1 medium size
Crushed Red Chillies - 4 tbsp
Cumin Seeds -1 tbsp
Salt - to taste

Puttu:
Ingredients:
Puttu flour- 1 cup
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Water - 1/3 cup
Fresh grated coconut - 1 cup
