GOLU AROUND THE GLOBE
Take a peek at Priyadarshini Rajamannar 's golu from Canada (+1)
Tell us about your Golu
This is my second year Golu in Canada and I do not have many traditional Golu dolls here.
But I’m really interested in Golu and wanted to try out an innovative way to make our Golu a special one.
Most of the Golu dolls are handmade with less than 10% of dolls that are store bought.
The following are handmade in our Golu:
Ganesha - seat - bolster- backdrop - umbrella (paper and modelling clay)
Shivalingam - Nandi - backdrop (modelling clay and paper)
Perumaal and Thaayar backdrop and changu-chakrum
Vaishnodevi set (clay, paper, cardboard)
Puri Jagannath idols (paper)
Miniature utensils and mat (clay and paper)
Miniature ancient appliances and mat (clay and paper)
Holders for chettiar bommai’s grains (paper)
Mango thoranam (paper)
I hope you like the handwork. This Golu dolls were made by me with lot of passion and I hope to make many more handmade dolls on the coming dads and years.
