Tell us about your Golu
We have been keeping Golu in UK for the past 5 year. During Navarathiri we also plan group Parayanam chanting 'Lakshmi Sahasra Namam' and other devotional slokas. The Golu and Parayanam leave a very positive vibe in the house. I have loved Golu from when I was a little girl. Every year I look forward to displaying the Golu, getting dressed up and singing devotional songs. As a person living away from India, I feel it is great way of experiencing our culture and passing the values to the next generation.
Dasavatharam, Ashtalakshmi sets have been highlight of our Golu over ages. We try to bring in new additions each year to our Golu. This year new addition to our Golu are Ranganathan, Panchamuga Anjaneyar and Krishna. Along with deities, each year we being and element of culture form world and add fun element for kids. This year we have brought in the culture from South east Asia. The dancers form Cambodia, Thailand, Japan, China and Vietnam along with touch of Buddhism bring the diversity to the Golu. The park for this year is based on 'Lost Adventure' LEGO theme.
I believe Navarathiri is the time of year to celebrate and bring the positive energy within you. We wish everyone best of health, wealth and happiness during the festive time.
